Chapter 4
The Alpha Male Traits
Alpha = Attraction = Dopamine
The Alpha Traits are the things about a man that typically create attraction in women. Female attraction is the involuntary response to Alpha Male Traits that is built into the Body Agenda of women. Alpha Traits spark a dopamine hormonal response in women and it’s the dopamine that makes them experience the feeling and impulse of attraction. Attraction is not controllable.
Physical Body, Semen and Genes
The first aspect of the Alpha Traits is the physical body of the male. Women are drawn to well muscled and lean male figures. It is quite possible to bulk up too far and find that women become repulsed by excessive muscle. The closer to looking like Michelangelo’s “David” he is, the better his attraction building is.
The point is that women look for a good source of semen, and therefore genes, for a potential pregnancy. Having a firm, fit and attractive body is a walking advertisement for those genes. Fit men ejaculate both more semen and better quality semen.
I have generally covered the importance of physical health in the Body Agenda chapter so let’s not repeat that and simply close with this - it’s almost impossible to underestimate the importance of good physical health and fitness in attracting women.
Peacocking and Preselection
Adding onto the physical health of a man is his appearance of being socially desirable and appealing. Male peacocks have enormously long beautiful tails, and when interested in a female peacock they fan them out behind them and shake them to attract her attention. The larger and more beautiful the tail, the more likely she is to mate with him. Thus the pickup artist strategy of “Peacocking” gets its name.
Peacocking refers to wearing clothing that act as a Display of High Value (DHV). Peacocking can be wearing clothes that are expensive and tailored to give a greater impression of wealth, or by wearing clothes that make a statement about a high profile occupation, like a business suit or doctor’s lab coat. Though obviously wearing a lab coat to a bar is horribly out of place.
Peacocking can also be the purposeful breaking of dress codes in such a way that it implies that the male is greater than the need to conform to the social arena. The boss of the company for example, might be completely comfortable popping into the office in jeans and T-shirt, while a junior manager would feel vastly under-dressed doing the same thing. It can also just be wearing something that is flamboyant and interesting that pulls female attention. Clothing always sends a message, positive or negative, about the man and women respond to that.
Preselection is another strong tie to how attractive a man looks. A man with no women paying him attention appears less attractive than a man with multiple women showing him attention. It could very well be the same man, but the effect of the difference in women paying him attention is the...

Chapter 5
The Beta Male Traits
Beta = Comfort = Oxytocin
The Beta Male Traits are all about creating relationship comfort and typically stem from the needs of raising children in a modern society. Back in The Time Before Writing women still needed comfort building, but that comfort was supplied simply by having a dominant male they could attach to. The reason women are wired to be attracted to Alpha males, is that for 99.9% of human history an Alpha male supplied the comfort a woman needed.
However, modern living creates comfort quite differently and modern child-raising comes with an array of needs that are vastly different to that in The Time Before Writing. The skills and abilities in men that meet those needs are the Beta Traits. Typically Beta Traits are aligned with creating a pair-bond by her body having a hormonal oxytocin response to her partner.
It’s a cruel trick of biology to both sexes that women are wired for attraction to ancient Alpha unconsciously seeking modern Beta, but that they can actually have a Beta partner and not really want him because of his lack of Alpha. The solution remains as always, that a husband has to balance both Alpha and Beta to sustain a marriage.
Dependable Provider with Money
Having a reliable source of income is a foundational Beta skill. The more money you can bring in, the better. Quite often having a high income matches up with some sort of socially prominent job and can be Alpha. For example, a doctor is a prestigious vocation and Alpha, but the income a doctor makes is Beta. In simple terms, the more money you make the greater comfort an attached woman and her children can live in.
A man’s current income may be low, but the potential for greater income in the future is also part of the Beta appeal. In short, given a choice between two identical males, a woman will choose the one with the better income.
In recent decades the earning power of women has increased greatly, so the need to have a man supply wealth is less important than in the past, but it is still an important factor. Men unable or unwilling to provide are often abandoned by their partners.
One of the more obvious things that make men sexy is having a coherent career. Whatever it is in particular isn’t all that vital, as long as the man can show some kind of general story arc of making more money and generally gaining more power in his work environment.
Money isn’t everything, but below a certain level of income, it sure feels like it’s everything. When all is said and done, more money is generally better than less money. The guy with a $100,000 income is going to go home with the pretty girl, and the guy making $25,000 gets to...
